Why does 'beauty lie in the beholder's eyes'?
We are 7 billion people. And I know well, that not many people like the smell of toothpaste or love to learn the elements of the periodic table. All of us have different likings, opinions and habits.
Why is that so?
A psychologist would say that people's brain reacts differently to different things, and a scientist would say 'your brain and my brain aren't the same'. But, I'll go the scientist way.
I think, that people are born never the same. The colour 'blue' might be red for someone, but they are taught to call it blue. The smell of toothpaste could smell like old and dusty books, but they are taught to call it tangy and overwhelming. A strawberry could taste like eggplants, but in school, we are taught that it's sweet and sour.
Probably that's why people don't like things. Strawberry maybe isn't sweet to everyone. Science could look like a boring, unchanging, non-developing subject, where someone like me will perceive it interesting, changing, developing and beautiful.
Here's the time to think. Close the site, and think, of all the things you don't like, which others find perfectly great. Think of all the things you find interesting, where others would look at you like seeing an alien. Think of all the boring things you learnt at class, and all the nerds who stayed up overnight finding more on the same.
Plato was definetely correct in quoting 'Beauty lies in the beholder's eyes', because nobody might see how you see a thing the same. The world is different, inequality runs rampant all over the universe. Nothing remains the same. You can now believe, something you see, has never been seen by anyone before.
